Friday 13 April 2012

BASES

Chaired by UEL Senior Lecturer James Beale, the event drew much of its theme from the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic games. The conference was attended by sports students from around the globe and was opened by UEL’s Dr Keith Gilbert, who delivered a lecture on research and applied perspectives in relation to the Olympics and Paralympics.

The two day conference featured other notable speakers such as Loughborough University’s Dr Sophia Jowett and Dr Gary Brickley of Brighton University, both of whom delivered lectures on athletic coaching.

The University of East London aims to become the number one university for sport in London by 2015.
