Student Involvement

Olympic and Paralympics Legacy

Volunteers, Workers and Athletes: Visit the Games and you’ll see a host of UEL students playing their part. Some will be working or volunteering to make the event a success...and there’s hope that some UEL athletes will make the cut for Team GB.

Claire Smith, Games-maker

My name’s Claire and I’m currently studying MSc Project Management. I’ve been selected to be a Venue Entry Team Member at the White Water Centre in Lee Valley. I’m looking forward to finding out exactly what this will entail at my orientation training at the end of February. I’m really pleased to be involved in London 2012, and can’t wait to get started!

Maxine Backford, Team London Ambassador

My name is Maxine and I have been fortunate to have been selected as one of the ambassadors for Team London at the Olympic Games 2012. My duties are going to include helping visitors get to the Olympic stadium and I will be stationed at Hyde Park. I am in the second year of my degree studying Psychosocial Studies.
