Torch Relay and UEL

The Torch Relay will be passing by all three UEL campuses. This will have an impact on travel and parking as outlined below. Please note that times are approximate and subject to change.

Saturday 21 July – Docklands Campus
From early in the day, the torch will pass through the Royal Borough of Greenwich, particularly affecting the Greenwich, North Greenwich, East Greenwich, Charlton and Woolwich areas.

At approx 10.20am, the Torch will disembark the Woolwich Ferry, and the relay will start at that point, and will then follow Albert Road, Woolwich Manor Way passed our campus into the Beckton Area.

Colleagues can expect those roads, together with the Gallions Reach roundabout and Royal Albert Way to be closed from approximately 6am to around 2pm.

Saturday 21 July – Stratford Campus
Having passed through Beckton and East Ham, the torch will head to Forest Gate, before turning left on Romford Road passing UEL on the Romford Road side of University House.

Colleagues can expect Romford Road and all roads accessed from Romford Road to be closed from approximately 6am until around 4pm.

Saturday 21 July – Duncan House
After heading down Romford Road, the torch will go along the Stratford Island area (also passing by University Square Stratford), and will pass the front of Duncan House. Colleagues can expect Stratford High Street to be closed from approximately 6am until around 4pm.

The torch is likely to pass Stratford and Duncan House between approximately midday and 2pm.
